Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone knows what this critter is?  It looks like an Anemone and it is growing on the tip of a branch on my Gorgonian.  I noticed it a month ago after putting the Gorg in my tank but I can't seem to find any info on it anywhere.  I tried cutting the branch underneath it and it grew back.  So I tried cutting farther down the branch and it still grew back.  So now I am beginning to think it is some kind of worm.  But I have no clue so I am hoping someone here does.  Thanks

Beautiful Gorgonian.  Do you feed it anything special? I second the feather duster notion.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.  I was leaning feather duster too but it didn't have that hard tube I usually see them in.  But I am not familiar with the different kinds of feather dusters, just the small ones that hitchhike into my tank.

GSIDE, I feed it Cyclopeeze once or twice a week and a Sunpod 150W for its lighting needs.  I have it in a 29 BC with a Hydor Flo hooked to the return pointed in its direction.

Thanks again
Jesse

That is not a feather duster, especially growing there and like that but a Hydroid.

Hey Boomer, that is exactly what it looks like.  Thanks for the clear pic and ID.  I went ahead and removed it by cutting off most of the branch it was on.  Hopefully it won't grow back again.  Thanks again everyone

Mike, I didn't want to take a chance on it being bad.  It was also an eyesore.

Hydroids are usually bad.
