So, I found out my two little clowns have ICH.

They are in a small QT tank with some live rock and macro.  I'm thinking about doing a hyposalinty treatment as I've done in the past.  Very slowly drop the SG to 1.009.  I'm sure the macro will have no issues.  I'll feed with garlic soaked flakes and pellets.

I'll also do water changes to try and get the free floaters out too.

My questions is, is there anything i'm missing?

I'm sure this was cause when I changed the temp in the heater from 79 to 77.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Do you have access to a uv sterilizer?  You may consider borrowing one to run on the q-tank as well.

And the garlic?  Is that for just for peace of mind? Evil Smile

I believe with ich you don't need to remove the fish to a QT as the paracites are already in the water column and treatment can be done in the display without doing the Hyposalinity treatment. Feeding foods soaked in garlic oil will help and usually clears the infection in a week or so. Running a UV Serilizer is a good idea as it helps kill the paracites in the water column breaking the life cycle of the paracites.

Shane / Burt, I'll see about borrowing one.  I've also seen them at one of the large chains.  They're not that expensive anymore.  I guess they have gone mainstream.

That's a pretty good link.

I've dropped the SG to 1.016 from 1.025 in the last 24 hours.  The next I will drop it from 1.016 to 1.009.

I've noticed my pH dropped 8.0 so I had some Seachem Marine Buffer on hand.  It's been slowly raised back to 8.3.  That took 12 hours.

Shane I might take you up on that offer if this doesn't clear up with the hypo method.  I'll give it 21 days.  I'll bring the SG up to 1.025 the first weekend in June.
