I noticed today that one of the eyes of my new yellow coris (canary) wrasse is extremely cloudy. I didn't notice this when I got him; however, the second I put him in the tank he buried himself in the sand for 2 days and is very finicky whenever I approach the tank so much so that I haven't been able to see him upclose since I got him about a week ago. What could be causing this? I do not see any white spots on his body that would indicate ich and my other fish are healthy as well. The wrasse is eating well and socializing with my other fish too. Is this curable? Is this something that could have happened within the week? Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Possible damage from diving into the sand would be my guess and it should heal. Is your sand big or small grain? I have coral rubble and have never seen this happen to mine but did see some side scratches when I first got it.

Cloudy eye, maybe?? Do you have an ammonia test kit? Seems like ive read before that high ammonia levels can cause it, as well as stress and other things... Im sure someone with more experience than me can chime in
