Does anybody's skimmer freak out when you do a water change? Anybody know why?
The time we enjoy wasting isn't wasted time!!!!

The newly mixed saltwater alters the surface tension (increases it) causing the skimmer to skim more for a short time. I usually switch my skimmer off for several hours after I do a water change for this reason.

I let my freshly-mixed SW sit overnight (with a circ pump and heater in the container) before doing a WC and that seems to alleviate the skimming issue

I get it too, and like previously stated, just turn it off for a few hours.
