Hey Connie do you remember bringing these to fish meetings?      Well my wife (in my absence) thought they were great and decided to buy one from you. I have no idea how many I have now.

  1. No..... Was it attached to something?? I have been trying to kill them for years...Obvisouly I am not winning this battle... I know I gave them to Susan. There were two on a coral she got from me.. Im sure she has 50 or so by now...
I have flying monkeys and I'm not afraid to use them.

180 gallon money pit that I love.....

I havn't been very successful with the straight injection method. Aptasia would pull in when I got close. I've used hot water from the tank heated to boiling in the microwave and squirted that directly on them. It stuns the large ones and then you can inject if you like. The smaller ones just die from being cooked. After you get the problem down Peppermint Shrimp will keep it under control.

My hermits and shrimp loved the "cooked" aptasia as well

Oh wait, I'm sorry, we got those from Diana T. I just talked to my wife.      They haven't caused any problems with the tank yet, but they are finding better and better places to hide.

Actually we do, it's just not real obvious. Just post those topics by clicking on the PM button under Adam's name. Just kidding! Did the kalk/pickling lime work for you Connie? My peppermints dissapeared when I added a couple cleaner shrimp. Now I have a few aiptasia coming back and would like to get rid of them.

My experience with majanos and the killing of them...

I bought a frag rock with some on it. I wanted to do the pickeling lime thing but couldn't find any. So, I bought a hypodermic needle from the Rx, placed the rock in a tupperware bowl next to the stove and injected boiling water into them. Done and have not seen them since.

I then had to do it to aiptasia that I brought home without knowing it. In this case I couldn't remove the rock, so I did a mad dash between the stove and the tank. Although it cools rapidly, it was still hot enough to kill them.

My Mom told me not to run with scissors, but she didn't say anything about not running with hypodermic needles.

Good luck.
