So i am downgrading from my 75 g to a 24 nano. Lights for the nano are no good so i was  thinking of using some lights from my 75 g. wondering on opinions of what people think. On my 75 g i have 65x4 power comacts and 2 175 metal halides. I was thing 1 of the halides and 2 of the PC. what do you think???

1 of the halides is more than enough alone.

Even with just that, you may have issues with overheating the tank.

try a 14K bulb for the 175 should give the coloration you like and not burn all you corals.  10K 175 with 2 PC's is overkill.

I agree that 175 watt and pcs will be too much for that tank but I also dont think 14k alone is going to give you all the color. I ran a 14k 175 watt with vho actinics over a 40 breeder and really liked the color but the 14k alone was still too white in my opinion...

Yeah, I'd go with a 20K bulb and keep an eye on the temp.

Do you plan on having an open top setup?  That will help keep things cool.

Still debating on the open top. Have always wanted one but with kids and a cat around its kinda sketchy if your now what I mean. And this really helps cus to be honest I did not think about hear like a dumb ass lol. I just realy like the blue color ( my 75 has 4 50/50 pc's and 2 20k 175 halides) and I'm afrid that a 20k 175 won't do it for me. I am also a huge Lps fan and want to make sure I have the light to support it.

I have a very small frag/quarantine tank and also have a cat.  I had a piece of glass cut that covers most of the tank.  One nite I got up in the middle of the nite and found the cat sitting on top of the glass.  egads  ....

20K will be fine. I ran a 20k 250watt on my 70 gallon cube and I grew sps. A 175 20k will work great.
