I took a vacation for the weekend.  I left Friday Afternoon.  Fed the fish twice on Friday.  Didnt get back until Monday Afternoon.  Fed the fish soon as I walked in the door.  The next morning I noticed my big momma clown was half way laying down.  This was early in the morning before the lights came on.  I put some food in the tank and she perked up and ate just fine.  She also ate Monday the day before.  Tuesday night she was dead.  Has been in my tank a while now and she has been very healthy.  Do you think the vacation weakened her to death?

I would venture to say it was in no way because you didn't feed them for a few days. I let mine go for weeks (even months) sometimes but we are talking about an established 225 gal tank.

Normally there should be plenty of natural food for them to feed on to last them quite a while.

How many gallons is your tank?
What are you doing for filtration?
What other fish do you have in the tank and are any of them aggressive?
What are you parameters (NO3, Salinity, and Temperature would be the most important to note in the case of a fish death)?
Did the fish have any spots on it or injury of any kind?
Have any other fish in the tank shown any signs or trama?
How big/old was the fish?

From there I think we can get a good idea of what killed her (if it wasn't just plain old bad luck that is).

Three days without food for a fish is no problem.  Something else cause her death.  You could leave your fish for a week without feeding and they would be fine as long as there was nothing else that caused problems for them.

How many gallons is your tank?  58g with 29 gal sump/fuge about 70 gallons total volume
What are you doing for filtration? Skimmer, fuge
What other fish do you have in the tank and are any of them aggressive? 2 Small damsels.  1 other small osc. clown
What are you parameters (NO3, Salinity, and Temperature would be the most important to note in the case of a fish death)?  I have been busy.  Checking this out tonight.
Did the fish have any spots on it or injury of any kind? Not that I could tell.
Have any other fish in the tank shown any signs or trama?  Not at all
How big/old was the fish?  She was big.  I cant guess the age but she was a real big Osc. Clown.  3-4 inches?

The tank is established fine.  Been setup almost a year now and no major problems recently.  I'm going to check my water quality and see if anything is up.  I just checked it 2 weeks ago and did a small water change it was ok.  I only change 5 gallons at a time i do this once a month.

The longer you stop feeding the more aggressive your fish will get
I stopped for 5 days and my tangs started fighting and two of my fish died

For 3 days you are fine. I wouldnt see why it would die from not feeding for only 3 days

With the tank being established that long, there should be enough pods and such for the fish to be fine.  I had a 40g tank up for a long time...and I pretty much never fed the fish (not saying it was good for them, but I just didn't).
Was the fish looking skinny beforehand?  Might've had an internal parasite since you didn't notice any external issues.  If she was the biggest thing in the tank, then I doubt it was aggression.  :-/  Sorry for your loss.
