I have an ORA Plum Crazy (I believe that's what it is, but that's neither here nor there), that when I got frag it fell died off in the sand and I was able to salvage a small 1/4" piece. For the hell of it, I glued it to the rock and it encrusted and crew to about a 4" piece. The only downside is that it has not sprouted branches at all. It's just a single branch, straight up. Any ideas on what I can do to get it to branch? I've red that cutting it and making separate frags would encourage it to branch as they grow out, or "scratch" into the sides of the current single straight up piece to get the same effect.

Anybody ever have a coral do this? Any thoughts on how I can get it to start branching?

You can try to clip the tip off. I have accidentally fragged some acros by dropping them or hitting them with my hand and I've noticed the new growth has almost always started with 3-4 branches.

Is it getting blasted with flow, to the point where it can't grow?

The scratching/fragging method has worked for me before.
Indefinite hiatus from sw aquariums.

Once I have my glorious return I'll set back up the following.
50 Gallon rimless cube.
180 Gallons mixed reef paradise

Nope, it sit in the middle of my 50 cube, so gets random flow from all sides.

A single stationary light source can cause this.
Set it sideways and watch it sprout. Smile
