Works really, really well in a 90g tank Settings: W1 / S2 I got waves rolling over the center brace! Just sayin'

S1 shoots water up and over the far end of the 4 foot long tank; I'm thinking it's better for the livestock if the water (and livestock) can stay inside the tank
The wp60 @ 100% (S1) is 20,000 lph (5,263 gph); S2 is 75% of max, which = approx 3,950 gph
That's 44X turnover in a 90g tank... so I think we're still OK
I have to say the corals are LOVING all the flow and 'wave action'

I had water over the tank as well. I then cut down my overflows and lowered my tank level two inches so the wave and water stay inside.

Adam - You'd be happy to know I lowered the wp60 down to about 7" below the waterline; and can now run it on S1! Maybe I'll have time to shoot a quick video over the weekend...

Maybe I'm just insane, but I have an MP40 and a WP25 in my 65 gallon RSM and I still want more flow...I already have about 70x turnover...too much? Bob - I'd love to see a video!

Bob are you still running the wp40 as well? Ever get nervous about the integrity of the tank with that much water sloshing around?

No, not both; I swapped out the 60 in place of the 40... Not worried about the tank 'failing' at all. Using the 'wave' settings, the flow is both universal and gentle at the same time... By 'universal' I mean that the water movement gets dispersed into such a wide pattern that the entire water volume inside the tank kind off ebbs and flows; there really is no one place where the current is stronger than another - the one exception being in the area immediately in front of the pump nozzle. And by 'gentle' I mean that the flow pattern is repetitive in nature and not so 'chaotic' as other pumps. I see a lot of people using these pumps in the 'else' mode. They say they are doing this because they want 'random flow' since they have read somewhere that most corals, especially SPS, need random flow. Except that's not really what is meant by the phrase 'SPS corals need random flow'... What that phrase means is that, back in the days prior to all these prop - style pumps, you had powerhead - style pumps like maxijets that all moved water in a very narrow stream. So either your coral got a constant 'blast' of water current, or nothing. And we had to put multiple powerheads in the tank to create multiple streams; and we would aim them at each other so the streams would collide and cause the water in the tank to flow in more ways than just the 'constant blast or nothing' scenario. Hopefully we had a sufficient water movement that we didn't have large 'dead spots' and / or places where there was still a constant blast of water.. in other words, the water movement pattern was varied in nature at random locations in the tank. That's really what the whole 'random flow' idea is about. Anyway, my point is that, on 'wave' mode the entire tank volume is ebbing and flowing so that the water current is constantly moving and varying in direction and force. Think about it. Water moves towards a location, then the wave causes it to move away from same location. Just like waves in the ocean (or at least pretty similar). IMO you are not going to 'beat' natural water movement patterns for optimal nutrient delivery to coral and subsequent waste product removal. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would buy one of these pumps and then run it on anything but the wave modes...
