With the Presidency's permission and blessing, I would like to start holding meetings on the first Thursday of the month. There was at least one person that came to my place that was excited about the idea.

I think monthly meetings in St. George would be awesome!  I'm all for another group of reef geeks.

From a logistics standpoint... it would probably be easier for Mark to start a "Southern Utah Reef Society" (SURS) or "Southern Utah Marine Organization" (SUMO) or "Southern Utah Marine Aquarium Society" (SUMAS).

Come to a meeting, they’re fun!

So whatever we call it, is there anyone else here in red rock country that would like to meet to discuss reefkeeping?

Maybe you will get some responses in the Southern Reefers section.

The presidency again reveiwed the topic of how best to support the Southern Utah group. We agreed that if the southern guys are going to formalize meetings, then we could help them by posting their meeting topics, times and locations on the WMAS homepage.

We will continue to offer a southern Utah section on our message board. At this point, we don't see a need to create any additional sections for those members and guests that are located in areas outside the wasatch front.

agreed. It's just nice to have a group down here to meet with since it not quite feasable to go up there every month for a meeting, but we talked about coming up for a few meetings a year and carpooling.  especially when you guys do frag swaps!!!! lol. It's nice to finally meet all the geeks down here who have reef tanks. myself included!
