well they are supposed to be the better version of lumenarc 3's. supposedly there is 16 or 18% more light focused with these than lumenarcs. here is a pic with some par meters on Lumenbrights vs. lumenarc 3s

Nice! I'm using a lumenarc 3 with a 400watt 10,000K XM. Very bright. I almost bought the lumenbright, but couldn't find any light distribution data. They look like they will be excellent though. Can't wait to see pictures of them over the tank... :)

we had though a lot about doing the lumenarcs because they spread out the light more evenly, but after a lot of debate we decided we wanted the halides pretty high off the water b/c of heat issues and ease of getting into the tank. the lumenbrights would allow us to do this. We are planning on having the actual bulb about 16 inches off of the water. we will see how it looks when i actually get it up. I'm trying ot figure out how to hang them now. Do you have pictures of how you hung yours?

thanks!

hopefully! after half a**ing all of our other tanks with bits and pieces we are finally trying to have a "nice" tank. haha. Not that our others werent nice, but its hard to have a nice tank when you are running three reefs and are both in college.

lol, you don't want to see. Any way you can access the wood beams in the ceiling? You might be lucky and have some in the right spot.

That's why I set up my first tank when I was all done with schooling.

well we made a wood hanging area across the canopy. I went to walmart and got a chain to hang it with. I did an eye hook through the hole that is on it, and hopefully this will work. I'll post pictures when done!

Looks good. I can already tell those reflectors are going to rock. You can see the bulb in every reflective surface, cool :)

If you look at your first picture, it looks like the dogs thought they got fancy new feeding bowls - and were waiting for you to fill them up

They're like "c'mon Mom, we're hungry!!! LOL

I have heard they are in the works. The only thing about these reflectors is they must be hung high off of the tank to get good coverage area. My bulbs are going to be about 16" off the water. This is good b/c it will help with heat issues using 400w halides. if you arent using 400w i would go with the lumenarcs. they give great spread. Not quite as much light *supposedly 18 percent less* but still a great reflector. here is a link to the current hqi fixtures

these are 250w i dont know if they come any less than that.
