Topic: Sunpower ballast replacement Posted: March 29 2011 at 8:11pm |

Well looks like a have a bad ballast on my 6x39 ATI sunpower, woke up this morning and bulbs 4 and 6 wont work. Very disappointing, esspecially since these fixtures are considered top of the line and its only been up and running for a month. Anyways, a new ballast is on its way from reefgeek, has anyone ever changed one of these out before? Is it difficult? Anyone have a link w/pictures? Im fairly mechanically inclined but Im a little nervous about tearing into the fixture.

Have you checked the bulb connections? Every once in a while 4 of mine won't light. I just rotate the bulbs a little one by one and it kicks back on when I get to the one that isn't making the connection.

They use Phillips ballasts, I know you can get them from Platt Electrical.

wondering how hard it is to change one.
