I think everyone has a problem with some form of coral of fish that no matter what you do they just Do Not survive.(or maybe its just me).
Mine is Xenia and Blonde Naso Tangs no matter what i do or dose or don't dose i cannot keep either one alive. Neeldless to say i have given up trying to keep either.
Anyone else have similiar problems with a certain fish or coral, or am i just  a poor Reefer?
Guess there is always Barber College.LOL

Lol. For a long time I couldn't keep zoas in the show tank, even though I had buckets of sps. I think it had more to do with the rapid change in ALK, before the dosing pumps. This and the fact that I was only putting in the really highend, hard to keep ones.

I'm about ready to set up a little nano just for zoanthids... same deal on acans

could be that the waters too clean... too much flow... who knows but they always seem to do great in whatever nano I have set up

Goby. They always turn into carpet jerky, even with egg crate on top of the tank.

And eels, at least not since I heard about them getting out of the tank and crawling across the floor.  Yuck!

Acans. My tank hates acans. Not sure if it's the lighting, the water quality, or the other corals in the tank.

Really? I've ran LED's since I set my tank up and that's not my experience at all. I've never seen such great coral growth on my tank.

Well yeah. If you don't understand that LEDS put out a significant amount of PAR then you're going to have a bad time. FYI it's the same with that TEK fixture you have. If you don't light acclimate your corals when you put in new bulbs again, you're going to have a bad time.

Sadly too many people in the hobby rush into things without proper research. LEDS arrived years ago and have been used in successful tanks for years now. In fact only one or two LFS in the entire state don't use LEDS. All the rest switched.

Now that said I too have seen a lot of messed up tanks because they didn't light acclimate their corals!

HAHA no I'm not offended at all. Trust me I've been in this hobby long enough to be wary of EVERYTHING. I'd never have put LEDS on my tank if it weren't for the literally hundreds of successful long term tanks that have them and the people I talked to and LEDS I researched. IMO they have been more then proven at this point. FYI I run the AI Vega. Love the lights. Will never go back to anything else.

Your welcome to come see my led lit tank for proof! I was the same way until I made the switch. It was well said above with knowledge about LEDs and their par. Never would go back I has mh t5 before.

Allen has one of the best tanks I've seen (I haven't seen a lot of tanks but his is gorgeous!). I'd say his LEDs are doing his corals a lot of good.

Anyways, for some reason duncans hate my tank unless they're in almost full shade.
