I may be getting one of these from the oklahoma aquarium.  He's curently in a 17,000 gallon QT tank with about 50 other tangs and larger fish and spends all his time just underneath a pipe with everything else biting him.  One of the biologists asked me to take him (save him) from this tank.  So I'm thinking of setting up a 20gal QT tank here at home for him to stay until I have a more suitable solution.  As it is, he's about 3 inches long, and fins are almost non-existant anymore.  How long until I can see some fin regrowth?

Fins will show regrowth almost overnight if conditions are right. Why can't it just go straight into your current tank?

no room.  I have 14 fish in my 72....it's almost too many.

Sold it all. Building a 285 with dedicated fishroom.
