it was fairly quick. 3 days ago he didnt come out to eat when i fed the tank and that rose my suspicions so i searched for him and found him leaning against a rock in his hiding place. since then i couldnt get him to eat and finally this morning he was gone so i had to flush him as i feared his dead body would give the tank a amnonia spike and dont want the rest of the tank to get disrupted. so im the market for a larger naso now, my gut says that  because he was a baby and not tank bred. i need to find myself a new naso that is no smaller than 6".

I'm sorry to hear that, I lost mine about two weeks about and he was my favorite fish.  Good luck on the Naso hunt.

The last place I seen a Naso was the The Aquarium and was a nice size could not remember how much though. The only other place that had one was Aquatica but it was a blond naso and was going for $40 but it was small. I got a reg Naso from them for $20 but he is only 4in

Sorry to hear about your Naso
65 Gallon and just getting started again after over year break.

I've tried twice with similar results. It's so disappointing because they are such cool fish. Are they just not very robust when they are small?

i got mine from aquatica for $20 too, it was also about 4" he was so flippin cool when i fed the tank i held the cube in my fingers and he would eat right off the cube. he was very personable. he was by far my favorite and will be missed. my wife keeps asking if im ok lol. that tank is not the same without him and it just looks bland now. im checking my chem levels and everything is still at 0 with alk at a little over 10 and ca at 440. no other stresses livestock so i know its not contagious. id like to get like a full grown male naso with the streamers but they are way mre rare than the other naso's.

unfortunately yes which is why i just might sell my current tank setup. i need to speak with my wife first cause she loves it just as much as i do, so i need her permission. but i just may sell it off and start off fresh. besides im starting traing to be a long haul truck driver and she doesnt know how to take care of the tank. if i decide to i will post. im not sure if ill throw in the $1100 light fixture as i know i wont get NEARLY enough out of it. but i wil probably use the old canopy with a shop light converted and 2 t5 reflectors. i was probably gonna list it for round $1000 but i am not sure yet. and when my new career calms down i will be investing in a new 125 or larger 6ft tank

That ought to give them a little more swimming room!
