Hello all, my name is kyle. i was refered here by a member named Bill whom i bought some live rock from.
i started my 1st tank in october. its a 36gallon bow front.
just started a 2nd tank 3weeks ago, its a 6gallon.
i started out with a baby trigger, had to get rid of him as i wasnt aware he would eat all my crabs 
so now i want a 100g-110g FOWLR so i can have some triggers, after all that was the whole reason i wanted to switch to the salty side as i have an obsession for trigger fish..
so im looking forward to learning, and browsing the classifides for a big tank 
p.s. just so i dont have to make a new thread for a quick question, what size tank would i use as a sump for a 100g tank?

Welcome Kyle,
You'll find as much information as you could possibly need here. Check out the Quick Reference thread at the top of the general posts section for some good info on a wide variety of subjects.
As far as the size for a sump generally the bigger the better and it is usually limited by what fits under your stand. A 20 Gallon would be minimum but between 30 and 55 would be better.

As big as you can fit. More water volume, more stability, and more options if you decide to ever go full reef.

I'd say minimum 55g if I were going 110 or bigger.

and yikes on the 50g+ sump. i really have a thing for bow front tanks, my 36g and my 6g are bow front, and i really want a 110g bow front, which i heard can be hard to fit an appropiate size sump..

Hi Kyle- nice to have you here!
I think a 110 bow would be awesome. I'd probably get a 40 or 55 gal or so for a sump. Basically whatever I could fit under the 110 stand.

a 55g tank really isn't that big compared to a 110g. Plus they are pretty easy to find used and cheap since they are a common tank. Finding a 110 bow front will be tougher. You want something big to increase your water volume and in case of power outages it can hold any extra water draining into the sump. If you went smaller you'd end up overflowing your sump.
