    Posted: April 06 2006 at 6:02pm

I recently aquired a used sump that has 5 holes drilled in it.  I only plan on using 2 of the 5 holes.  After looking at the prices of bulkheads, I was wondering if there is any other way of closing up the holes that I don't need other than putting bulkheads and plugs in.

thanks

PS: If anyone knows of a store to buy bulkheads that is not so expensive, please let me know

How about 'patching' it with a larger piece of acrylic?

Bulkheads should be $5-$15.

If the sump is acrylic you can go to regional supply and get a piece of scrap acrylic for $1.  Cut it to size and glue ($2 also from regional) over the holes.

If it's glass go to the glass shop and see if they have any scrap that would work and just silicone it.

We just cut some extra acrylic and patched the holes, worked great.  Thanks for the info.
