I was woundering if there is a problem with plumming a external pump without drilling?

Works great.  You just need to have a priming cap on the line so you can fill the tube with water to get it started.

A friend of mine did this exact thing with a large Blueline pump. It ran fine for six months or so, but eventually failed. He contacted them and this particular manufacturer indicated they do not recommend "pulling" with the pump. But, I have seen other do it without any problem.

thanks guys I was thinking of getting a glass bit to drill my sump but there alot of $$$ and not shure if I want to haul my 55gl down to eric. dose everyone want to pich in and get a club diamond hole saw

He must have been using a too small suction line.  Sized right, the pump does not pull at all... you'll actually have positive pressure at the suction.
