Carl, that's a good point. All algae is good, just sometimes unwanted.

Suzy is looking for Copepods. You may be thinking Amphipods.

I'll bet you already knew that, huh?  It's interesting to find the balance of how much macroalgae is too much, and how much is too little.  I don't know if I've figured it out yet.  Mostly I stare at all the life in the refugium and forget to see how much macroalgae is growing.  Then one night, the light comes on, and I run over - open the door - and decide I've probably got too much.

Oh, yeah - - - I have the worst time figuring out which one is which.  Copepods are the ones with the tucked-in hind end?  Mysis shrimp are the little ones that are very straight and thin and zoom around really fast?  Amphipods are ??? the ones that you like to post in a bunch of different colors??
