I am setting up a 20g long tank peninsula style. I have the eshopps pf-nano overflow box and I will have a 10g sump. I am wondering what return pump would be a good option?

The Eheims are fantastic. They're a little more pricey than the Mags, but they last longer.

I dont like mags they put off too much heat. I will look into the eheim. What gph would I need to look at? The sump will sit about 2 ft below the tank or so...

I would say about 500 GPH I love my new reef octopus dc pump but they are pricy. But they run dead silent and put out no heat.

Nick Tenney has a Reef Octopus DC pump that would be perfect.  I think he's only asking $80 and it's barely used.  You can adjust the flow from 300-900 gph

Rule of thumb is you should turn over the water about 10 times an hour (I would say this is a minimum) so 20 gal tank 10 gal sump that's 30 gallons ten times an hour that's 300 GPH but you need to figure in your head hight that's why I would say at least 500 GPH.
All of my tanks with power heads included turn over an average of about 40 times an hour but I also do allot of sps.

I understand that. I am running an overflow box that is rated at 200gph so i have to be careful and mindful of that

I'll have to take a look and see. I actually have a couple pumps a mag five and another one it will just depend on if I can find someone with a hole saw to drill holes as to which route I will go on my sump
