Hey y'all!  I'm having a bit of an odd  algae bubbly stuff on my acro.  It's on the tips and there are these clear little bubbles on there too.  The algae is brown in color.  I don't have a pic but will try to get one up soon.  I'm at work and the more I think about it the more it bothers me.  It resembles dinoflagellates (scary) when I look it up online but I'm really REALLY hoping that's not what it is.  The bubbles are really small and clear and the algae isn't really slimy or anything like that.  It's only on my one acro at the moment.  I checked my water pars and everything is good:
Ammonia- 0
Nitrite- 0
Nitrate- 5
pH- 8.3
Salinity 1.026
kH- 150
Ca- ran out of test stuff Unhappy so couldn't test- will get new one soon
Phosphates- 0

This is all I test for and everything is usually pretty constant.  I dose Kent Marine Part A/B when my kH and Ca get low.  I use RO water.  Below is an older pic from about 2 months ago but the coral in question is in the upper right hand corner.  I did change my lighting from 2 150w MHs to Aquaticlife 48 Inch T5H0 6 Bulb Unit with Lunar LEDS.  This change happened about 2 months ago and the bubbles showed up about 2 weeks ago.  I think that's it.  HELP!!!  Should I remove the coral before the bubbles spread???

OH, AND... my GBTA moved very close to this coral and the bubbles seemed to start showing up around the same time as the GBTA moved.  Coincidence??

The anemone could have stung the coral.  That might account for it.

Also the anemone moving around it might mean that the current in the tank shifted.  That happens to me when I clean pumps and such.  Since acropora like a good amount of current, that might account for it.  Also the pump might have moved to where the coral is getting direct current from it, and that could be another reason as the direct current might be to strong.

Also the stuff almost looks more purple than brown which is usually an abundance of nutrients in the tank; however, your parameters don't seem to indicate that.

Another thing might be your lighting, if your lights are older then it could just be the shift in intensity and spectrum that is causing the issue.

One more thing is to check for red bugs as it also could be that something is munching on it and that is causing the issue.

Thanks Richard!  All good points.  I did clean my pump a couple of weeks ago.  So, that could be it.  I'll move the coral tonight to see if that makes a difference.  The anemone is my #1 culprit.  He is just right on top of the coral.  Now that I think of it, I also had to move some things around to catch a diamond goby who was creating mass destruction in my tank.  I could have placed the rocks in a way that disrupted the flow to the coral.  My water parameters stayed constant through the moving of things in the tank, but the flow could have been disturbed.
Everything else in the tank (other SPS included) looks great.  All is thriving and happy as can be.
I will alsol cut back on feeding.  Although my parameters look good, cutting back couldn't hurt.  I feed 2 times a day now (not alot each feeding but it's still 2 times a day).  Probably too much.  They look so hungry and I'm just a sucker!!!

I really love this coral and would just be so heartbroken if it perished Cry
