Topic: Am I harmful? Posted: July 31 2004 at 7:47pm |

Sorry for the bad picture. I've noticed that I have a bunch of these little critters in my tank. I think they may be eating/harassing my Zoanthids. The largerest one I've seen is about 1cm long. It is brown/orange and purple in color. Sorry about the picture being grainy but I used paint to get it down to size.

I believe this has come up before. I believe they are harmful, but who actually removes them? Maybe most people don't notice them and they eventually die off or are themselves eaten by a Wrasse or Damsel. Maybe we usually grow Zooanthids faster than these critters can eat them up!
That's my 2 cents, I hope someone else knows more.

They look like a critter from Star Trek. Remember the bug they put in some guy's ear once?

They are a zoo eater. A type of Nudibranch if I remember right, remove them if you can find them.

I am so happy that someone knew what I meant. Yes, definitely a classic. The Trouble with Tribbles was a lot more fun, though. Well, it wasn't a movie. Weren't they cute?
