Topic: My new DIY hood, with pics. Posted: November 12 2005 at 11:38am |
I just finished my new hood 2 days ago. As you can see I'm not a very good wood worker
but since I'm so proud of it I'll show it off any way. The color is not
my favorite, but I had to match the existing stand as I have no
desire to move my tank. The way the canopy opens makes up for any
flaws, It's now super
easy to get into the tank since the front and even part of the top
opens up.
The lights are PFO mini pendents where the wire loops over the top of
the hood. I have a few screws that I can "hang" the wire on so I can
very easily lower or raise the lights.

Looks great. Great design. Very easy to work in the tank.
Is this the same tank with you standing beside it?

Yep that's the same one. It's amazing what ~2 years will do. The hood
did turn out a lot better than I thought, had some help from a friend.

Thanks,
It's a 90, the picture mark took makes it look a little smaller because
it's back in the wall a little and I'm standing out in front of it.

Wow, I forgot about that. That must have been out of my little
10g tank. I've since broken it down and moved everything into the
90.
