My first invert. that I bought for my tank died this past week. I had it for 3 years 2 monthes. This is to the contrary of some of the writings of Delbeek and Sprung. They don't think that these are very hearty animals and they haven't known of any living 1/4 as long as mine has.

We had ours 10 months.  I thought that was a good long run.  Nice hosting Firefish!

Wow, Firefish.  That was a great life for your flame scallop.  What did you do to keep him alive & healthy so long?

Nothing really, I never paid him any attention. He found a good spot to anchor to in a hole in a rock and stayed there for all of his life. I really don't take care of my tank as much as a lot of people I know, with fluctuating calcium and carbonates, and ph fluctuations, just to name a few, I suppose he should have died, I am the type of person to feed my fish at least twice a day, and whether he got nourishment out of that I'm not sure. I've even put him through the stress of moving. (from Midvale to Tooele)
