I need to get a new bulb. I know I really liked my 14k phoenix bulb but I can't find them in a 400w single ended so I need to go with another brand.
I am going to try to get rid of my two bulb t5 because I think I just have way too much light lol. So I am wondering if people that are using metal halides could post some pics of their tanks and what brand K rating the bulb is.

Thanks a ton:)

What do you supplement with the t5's, actinic?   I have a 175 watt mh single end over my 40 breeder. I use a 14k ushio bulb and supplement with 2-vho actinic. I have a couple good pics on my phone if you want i could text them to you. Though I know you are looking for 400w and mine is only 175 watt...

If you want to get rid of your t5 and go all halides. I would recommend a 400watt 20k Radium bulb they look very good. I love Radiums bulbsThumbs Up

Yea the t5 is for the blue. I am just afraid if I order a 20k bulb it might be too blue for me even if I don't use the t5.

Have any pics? I don't like an extremely blue tank so I am just worried it might be too blue at 20k.

If its an older magnetic ballast then no, the 20k radiums wont be that blue in person. I know a guy that uses them on his 180 with an older magnetic ballast and they aren't that blue, just looks like a nice 14k
