I've been happy just using Chaeto and see no reason to use anything additional to or in lieu of.

It depends on what you consider "good".  If you want a diverse population of macroalgae to export nutrient AND feed your tangs at the same time, then a lot of caulerpa work just fine.  If you want a macroalgae that doesn't go into sexual phase, die off, and pollute the tank, then chaetomorpha is the answer.  Most of caulerpa can die off like this (well, from what I hear anyway; never experienced it first hand).  If you want a macroalgae that grow the fastest to maximize nutrient export, I'd say the verdict is still out there.  It seems to me that chaeto growth rate is not worse than any of the caulerpa.

For me, chaetomorpha is the safest bet.  I'd rather not have mass die-off in my tank.

I use all of the above in my big system. It grows, I feed the 6-8 tangs in the display, it grows back. Interesting thing is my ray likes grape. Eats it up like any other food. But wont touch any other macro.

I too have various types in my refugium.  I was at plague proportions of the grape caulerpa until I purchase my yellow tang and now it is almost gone.  It doesn't eat the feather caulerpa but between blenny and kole they keep it manageable.  My yellow tang loves the chaeto that manages to find its way up into the display plus what I put in there.  I have not had massive dieoffs of the caulerpa in my system and I have had large amounts of it from time to time.

I guess I will stick with cheato it kinda scares me knowing come of the macro algeas can go sexual and kill off your entire tank within hours.
