What is the best way to get the gunk off of the inside of the glass? I have stuff building up at the bottom and in the corners that my magnet cant scrape off. I have seen long handled cleaners at the LFS but they are like $30 which is okay if they work - I just dint want to waste the money if they dont. What do you guys use?

Razor Blade for glass. Plastic blade for acrylic. You'll have to get your hand and arm wet, but that's what towels are for. You might get bit too, but that's what fish nets are for.

I would add to Carl's statements by saying to try and use a new blade everytime. Since razor blades are metal, and you are sticking them in salt water...well they rust up pretty good (even when dried well). Otherwise, never use them on acrylic as it can scratch the tank.

There's a great Razor blade made my Rhino available at Regional Supply for like $5 and it has a 4" long blade. I LOVE IT!!! It works great, and doesn't take as long to do the whole tank. Be careful though when using a razor not to cut the silicone, or your tank could spring a leak.

I like the Kent Pro Scraper.  It is a little more $$ but has a long handle so that you do not have stick your hand in the tank.  The blade does not rust and you can replace it.

For glass razors work great.  For acrlic you can get the 30$ scraper the LFS carries for 15$ on-line. Algae Scrapers

Idont mind getting my arm wet and the only fish I need to worry about is Simba (the lion) - he is usually pretty goodSmile ! I thought there was a good chance of scratching glass with a razor? ....

Where is Regional Supply? I have a couple tanks to clean so anything that will save me a little time would be good - this is what I get for being lazy and not cleaning more oftenConfused!
