I am starting a 55gal with a 20L sump/refug and I am trying to find out if I can just use any light bulb for the light since I am not going for looks I just need things to grow! I don't want to put out a lot of cash and I need to keep the heat down if possible. Please help me out i am still a newbie to this!

Hunt around for a used PC fixture.  With as many people converting to T-5 there should be some great deals on PCs.

Home Depot - Philips 15W R30 Soft White Compact Fluorescent.  I grew a lot of macro with it.
It's no more than 5 dollars.
