I bought a bubble tip last night. It stayed out and my clown fish loved it for about 12 hours then it crawled under a rock. I've heard of them doing this before but I can't remember if this is a really bad sign or not. Can I expect that it will crawl back out or am I probably going to lose it?

I am no expert but I have had BTAs in my system since the day I got it.  In my experience they like to move around unless they find a spot they particularly like.  It is not uncommon to see them disappear in the cracks or behind a rock for a little while.  They seem to like bright light, so as long as you are providing that you should be fine.
