Looks like I'll be spending this weekend plumbing a new tank. Since my first tank was a hand me down, with all the plumbing already in place, I have a quetion or two before I procedd. What do you use to secure the PVC joints together? Aquarium sealant, PVC glue, combo of both, etc.? Second, where do I get the handy dandy on off valves that I see on so many plumbing set ups? The ones that allow you to control the flow from the overflow, etc? I apologize in advance for my newbieness, but I've always been a freshwater guy and things seemed to be a lot simpler then. Thanks in advance.
You should probably get some unions and plumb them in to the intake and
output of your pump (reasonably close) to allow removal of the pump (or
other item) when cleaning or in case of failure. The use of a
100% plastic gate valve is recommended for the control of flow (output
side only), but you can use a ball valve. Use pvc glue to glue
all your pipes together, but make sure you test fit everything first
and that it is in the right position when you glue it, since you only
have about a 10-15 sec window to alter it in after joining. Hope
this helps a bit.
Was that in there yesterday? Casper--WY windier than ?
