New (to me) EV-120 instantly full of wet skim

Hey guys,

Just got a new to me EV-120 skimmer with a mag 5 pump. Have it setup so the outlet is just above the water level. As soon as I plugged it in it instantly filled with super wet foam and filled the cup. Do I just raise it more to get drier foam? If so how can I quiet the outlet water? Thanks

Is the gate valve all the way open? also check the air inlet, they can get salt creep built up inside. You might try closing the air inlet a touch to make the bubbles smaller.

Thanks :) It doesnt actually have the gate valve. It seems to be slowing down some. I just have never had a skimmer take off like that before. Instantly had big bubbles. Crazy.
