whats the best way to clean pumps and powerheads of all the slime and build up?  Ive heard  of soaking in Vinegar?  if so what type
Vipers look cool at a distant, but be careful of the bite..its a killer!

The cheapest bulk white vinegar you can find (Costco/Sam's Club/Whatever). Just mix about a cup per gallon of warm tap water (or if you're like me, just dump the vinegar in with a dash of water). The more vinegar you add, the quicker the coralline will dissolve. Let it all sit for a few hours until you can rub off the coralline with no effort. Then just rinse, dry, and reinstall.

You can also use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser in the tank if soaking in vinegar is a bit of a problem.

thanks...im trying the vinegar thing...got a bucket...placed my powerheads in it and letting them soak for a bit...also poured some into the skimmer to help clean it out
