Here's a good link to explain a sump - and it's better to ask than not ask at all. . . http://www.melevsreef.com/what_sump.html

Wilson,
Don't worry about asking questions here, when I started my tank up 3 months ago, I asked every question possible, at first I felt like they were stupid questions, but everyone here just wants to help. Good luck with the tank! And welcome to the most addicting hobby I've found yet (and I have a lot of hobbies...)

i totaly agree ive had cichlids for the past 8 years aka since i was 9 fyi im only 17 any way and my dream has always been a sw tank. well i was told that the nano cube was the worlds best for first time sw tanks. so i found a guy selling his established tank and bought it. Then it went from there and within a week i had bought another 55 gal and now am replacing that with another 55 gal. so yah its nuts and addicting and i have a million questions and all the people here have done nothing but help. Im just hoping when i get it ill be able to set it all up properly.

Yeah, I was the same way, I started with Guppies when I was like 10 or 11 and always wanted a SW. Then somehow I convinced my wife that a 29 gal reef would be cool (I'm already working one getting a 75-90). But as of last night we have our second tank, a 10 gal nano! Fun stuff, good luck with the tank!
