I just bought some frags and i was curious of what kind of chemicals i should buy?? i'm sooo new at this haha...

Salt... that is probably all.  A few frags and a water change once a month is plenty.  

Next- testing Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium.  

Oh, and I highly.... highly recommend going on the reef tour on April 9th.  You'll want to see a lot of tanks and ask a lot of questions.

I agree with Adam.

I personally use Kent 2 part A & B.

A for calcium
B for alkalinity

I would also get some good test kits for calcium and alkalinity. I use salifert

You can get magnesium too but I would start with the others first.

Here is a link to a calculator that has been very helpful to me when dosing for calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium.

Adam hit the nail on the head. I'd also recommend going on the Reef Tour and aking lots of questions and taking notes.

yeah i was planning on driving around and seeing what others do. is coral picky on the salinity? i'm at 023 right now..

reef tour is where you get your fish on! If you look on the homepage there should be an advertisement about the upcoming one in Nov. I'm sure even on the forum page there's something somewhere about it.

The Annual Reef Tour has been held in the Spring for the last few years. The Mountain West Reef Fest, an awesome regional conference sponsored by the WMAS for all of us hobbyists is coming up Saturday November 1st Here is the announcement link http://utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=50868
