I'm not at the stage of building one yet, perfect time to research right. I saw some cabinets at the home improvement stores. Can they be used as a stand for a 75 gallon, or would I need to brace it some on the inside? I've seen some plans I like but I would like soemthing simple. I would love some ideas.

If you use one, make sure it's built from some sort of real lumber and not particle/mdf type  board.  It doesn't fare well with wetness.

Good point. the kind I was looking at were ply wood. I more than likely wont go this route but thought I would ask just incase someone has and had success.
