Topic: LF Water barrel Posted: December 27 2018 at 3:46pm |
I am looking for a water barrel that has a drain tap on the bottom and a way to fit a 1/4 inch hose on the top to be auto filled form my RO unit.
Anyone have one for sale or know where I can find one?

I found mine on ksl. I'll find a picture tomorrow
Here are the two 15 gallon ones I got and the mixing station I built with them. The one on the right is RO storage (you can see the RO line in the top on the far right there is a float valve inside the barrel), the one on the left is the salt mixing barrel. By turning a couple of valves I can use a single pump to pump fresh RO into the mixing side, then Isolate the mixing side from the RO side. I even have it setup so that I can turn a couple of other valves and use that same pump to remove water from my sump (That's where the top pipe goes to now) adn then I can pump the entire content of the mixing barrel into the sump for a near instantanious 15gallon water change without dragging buckets or hoses. The guy that sells these has 4 or 5 different sizes and has some white and mostly blue. They were used for storing syrup and fruit purees. For a couple extra dollars he will do a full food grade pressure clean and rinse so that the barrels are ready to use.

Utah Rotational Molding makes awesome 100g ones. I have a couple on my water change system.

Here is a link to one of his listings for a 40g white. You can call him and see what other options he has.

Yes, I designed and built that entire station to work with what I needed for a mixing station. Then bought all of the parts and cut, glued, sealed, plumbed and filled out with water. It's been working great for almost 3 years.
