I was at a LFS today and bought a coral, I asked about, and the salesman just gave me a 1.5 inch starfish missing two limbs and not moving a whole lot for free since it didn't look to good.  Its has red and tan coloring in blotches.  It doesn't move a whole lot but I check on him every couple hours and his remaining limbs have changed position several times so he is not gone yet.  He is on my filter pad in my filter, he should get easy meals from the pad all the time there(and he can be easily removed and inspected, I gave him a vert tiny piece of pureed shimp as well).  I removed some flesh that was part of a remaining limb and and a small part of his center that was falling apart and turning to a goo.  Is he a gonner for sure, anything more I can do?

Inverts can be tricky. Just keep a close eye on him and watch for improvement. if you keep seeing him deteriorate then it don't sound to good. If he is getting better then you should see healing in a few days.

The center part of him was a glob of goo this morning, so he is gone.  A sad end, I would of loved a small starfsh for this nano.
