Finally after all this time I'm finally getting ready to add water to my tank, (95g bow front with 30g sump), its taken a lot of time and even more research to get to this point but its been alot of fun so far and one thing I have definately learned is to ask when I have a question which brings me here.

I will be mixing my own saltwater with ro/di water, but is it possible to just add the ro/di water to the tank and mix the salt in slowly till i reach the right specific gravity of 1.023? or should I mix the salt in a 35g trash can I purchased to store ro/di water in and then add it to the tank?

I've spent alot of hours working on getting the equipment and research to set up the tank to possibly risk messing something up at this point and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If this is the first time adding water and there's no live stock then go ahead and mix it in the tank but from here on out mix it outside of the tank.

Yes this will be the first time adding water to the tank, and I do plan on buying a smaller trash can to mix saltwater in for water changes in the future. Thank you!
