Topic: Which LED should i buy for Nano Cube Posted: January 05 2015 at 8:04pm |
I have a small old version 8gallon Nano cube, I want to put in some LED lights that will support Chaeto, zoas, softies just simple stuff. I first bought some panorama stunner strips. but they are notorious for burning out farely quickly. and they just weren't strong enough. Im hoping to get some help on finding a slim led light that will fit in the nano cube lid fixure. preferably dimmable, and 25watts or more. any suggestions?

Nice light! But really don't want to invest more than $140 max And I don't know the first thing about DIY led. What do you guys think about this one http://m.ebay.com/itm/261247681148?nav=SEARCH

the lights off ebay are what most people are raving about. i mean, not only are they really cheap, but they work well too! They aren't programmable, so thats a downside, but you'll have more than enough light for an 8g tank. You'll want to make sure you dim them way back to maybe 30-40%.
i would search ebay for "120w dimmable aquarium led" this brought up lots of different choices as far as price. More good news is most of them come with free shipping. Down the road if something does happen 4-5 years later, you only spent 100 bucks on the leds in the first place.

120w is way to much for an 8g cube. They make the chinese "Sh!tbox" LED's in lower wattage units. I think I would go for the 56W one and still turn it down to 30-40%.
