I'm going to need a better system soon for mixing salt water. Right now with my 65 G and small quarantine tank I just mix 2 5 gallon containers a week and do my water changes. I'll be adding a 93 G tank online soon. I am looking for ideas for a container that I can mix salt water in and then fill 5 gallon jugs from it. I'd prefer a container with a spigot, but if I have to siphon that works too. The container will go in my laundry room so it can't look too trashy LOL.

Also, how long does fresh salt water stay "fresh" if you have it circulating? I'd like to always have some around in case I need it. Until now I have been making my water weekly the day ahead of water changes.

I've seen alot of people buy a 32g "brute" plastic garbage can and install some pvc valves to use as a "spigot".

Not 100% sure on how long freshly mixed saltwater is good for, but i would assume as long as its not sitting for months without use that it should be good for a while (with aeration).

I have two of the 32g brutes like mentioned above with bulk heads and valves already installed I need to sell if you are interested. I upgraded to 65g containers.

Water doesn't go bad, it just becomes deoxygenated. So run a power head for a few hours before doing the water change. The rest of the time, you shouldn't need to worry about it.
