So with the temperature outside getting warmer, I thought it would be a good time to finally hook up the chiller I bought a few weeks ago for my BC 29g HQI. I guess I have 2 options on how to hook this chiller up.
1: Use an extra pump in the 2nd chamber to pump water into the chiller and have it return into the third chamber where the return pump will then pump it back into the tank. Therefore I will have 2 pumps, one for the chiller and one for the return.
2: Remove the return pump and replace with a stronger pump to feed the chiller and then have it return directly into the tank. Only 1 pump.
Which one would be better? If I go with option 1, is there a way to hook it up to my RKL and have it turned on when it hits a specific temp instead of having to run 2 pumps all the time?
For simplicity option 2 would be better. You can still plug your chiller into the RKL and only have it turn on when the temp hits the set point. It would be really easy to set up. I'd be happy to help you set it up. Shoot me a text (my number is below) and we'll get it going!
