I have been looking at LED's to put in a coralife Biocube.  I have been looking at DIY and it seems all the components still come from china.  So what about a whole fixture from china?  I can still get the CREE chips but they also have the auto dimmers built in.  Has anyone tried buying them or know anyone who has?

there is so much to look through.  I am looking for something to fit with in the splash guard on the hood.  It is a 29gallon so is 120w good?

I would wonder if I was buying what I thought I was buying, or something else that just happens to have the label you are looking for.  The Chinese are known for making knockoffs and selling the knockoffs with a known label -- I do not know if that applies to the LED lights you are looking at.  I'd probably feel more comfortable if I was purchasing the lights made in China from a reputable store in the States that is marketing the lights and whether I could return to that store if I had warranty issues.

Steve's LEDs sells quality affordable equipment, and some cheap Chinese stuff, too.
