Well here is where we stand after this morning's activities.

Just need to put down baseboards, put up trim around tank/drywall edge, and tape and mudd all the joints..then paint.

dry fitting the header above the tank.

the top wall built and hung.

the rest of the framing about done.

and finally a bit of drywall..I have no idea why my lame digital camera always shows the tank green like this when the lights are on.

Sweet deal... you're showing the steps for the idea I've had using a 180(or bigger). You're doing an awesome job!!!

This is a very cool project. I would love to do this. I do have a comment and possibly a suggestion. If it were me, the lack of frount access to the top of the tank would drive me crazy. I'd place coral and LR in the back room then have walk to the frount of the tank in the other room to see how I like it. For me this would be flustrating and inconvenient and something to think about in the long term.

Dvadar,

I agree with you, it is rather annoying. But I will say it is less so than I expected it to be, I have such a great view of the tnak from the top in back I can see everything quite well. I have a much better view and accesability than I had while reaching thru the door in the old hood without doubt.
