My PH swings from about 8.3 in the day to about 7.96 at night - Is this to far of a swing?

That's a big swing. Do you have a refugia?

Yes, that is. Does that sand bed include a fuge? Do you run that light opposite your display? How about a protein skimmer? What type of turn over does your system run? How about surface agitation? What type of salt do you use?

I was thinking just like DLindquist. The reverse daylight refugia may be a great move here.

I run the sump lights 24/7.  I use oceanic salt,  I feel I've got a lot of good surface aggitation.  Skimmer is ASM G2 that I recently got - before was a smaller skimmer.  I have a big reflo dart pump.
I've been continuing to add alk (soda ask diluted in water) - anytime I see the ph not reach 8.3 during the day - last test alk was at 9DKH(7-14DKH is ideal).
Recently I have also added a kalk reactor in line to my ato water, When i added it I didn't put too much  in the reactor to be careful, I think i may dump a ton more in there.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't run the sump lights on your macro 24/7. It's only beneficial to that if you have an outbreak of something and can long term actually stunt macro growth. Run it reverse the schedule of your tank lights. So if your lights come one at 10 AM your sump light turns off at 10 AM. This allows for your PH swings to be less dramatic and your macro to grow better. Probably not the end all be all of the situation but will certainly help.

Also Kalk RAISES PH when dosed. When it's coming out of your reactor how fast is it coming out and where in your sump is it coming out? I have mine coming out where my overflow dumps in so as to lessen the PH increase. I also have it drip pretty slowly.

My ato has a float valve & solenoid - runs 10 min every 4 hours, prolly uses about three gallons a day. - Everything I researched said kalk would help maintain ph by keeping alk in there.....???

I suppose the biggest reason I leave the sump lights on 24-7 is to help with my high phosphate levels.

Kalk will raise PH, if you can I would try adding top off more often for less time in my 40 gallon I run my kalk reactor for 15 seconds every 45 minuets but only if float switches call for top off water if the float switches are reached it will stop the 15 second timer

I also use Oceanic Salt. However, I mix that salt w/ Instant Ocean. After years of a steady 8.1-8.2 PH, my PH began dipping as low as 7.8. After months of trouble shooting, I found the cause to be switching over from Instant Ocean to Oceanic salt. Took a couple more weeks, but after I started mixing both salts together my PH stabilized back around 8.2 day & night.

DLindquist intersting hmmm how strange.
Sanddune660 - Good idea about the more frequent water topping off.  Should I put more kalk in the reactor?  I got an ro unit container, and I think I have about 1-1.5" full on the bottom.

So since I've changed the sump lights to be on when the main lights are off my swing is smaller - 8.02 at night 8.22 during the day.  .2 Swing now.
