The only thing keeping me from buying the ATI model is that i cant find those damn legs, hanging them is not an option

im not sure about this but you can hang ATI fixtures right? you may want to take a look at tek light legs. they mount on the top im pretty sure.

Yes ATI fixtures are meant to be hung from the ceiling or canopy interior. Tek fixtures do have the option of mounting legs. Keep in mind if you buy a tek you will need a supplemental cooling fan. T5 bulbs lose their intensity dramatically as they get over about 120 degrees. Keeping them cool is very important to performance and longevity of the bulbs.

Hanging an ATI is easier than most people think. It doesn't have to be hung from the ceiling. You can make some arms that attach to your stand or the wall and then hang it from that.

You can also hang a shelf above the tank and hang the ATI from that.

But if you are dead set on legs, ATI isn't an option for you.

i've been thinking on a hanging shelf, any ideas where to find something that hangs over 30 inches? the tank is not close to the wall, there is a gap

Some outdoor plant hangar arms from home depot.  You can get some pretty long lengths on those
