there are so many protein skimmers to chose from. what do you think is some of the bestter ones for the best price?

The best skimmers don't come cheap. Some of the better skimmers brands are ATB, Bubble King, Super Reef Octopus to name a few.

More info sorry. I have a 55 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump. Right now I only have a pair of clowns, a blue tang , and a little damsel.

The SWC 160 cone would be good for that tank.
