So are you looking for a way to completely remove it from the rock? Or do you just want to cut it back a bit?

I would remove the rock with the two corals and put it in a small container of tank water that you will throw out when you are done. Then as carful as possible peel the entire toadstool from the rock. rinse the rock and coral in the bucket of tank water and then return them to the main tank. The toadstool could be loosely tied to another rock to reatach. Hope this helps.

Are you getting the toadstool off the rock so you can give the rock with xzina to a friend?

If it were me I would cut/pull off the xzina and give it away that way. Xzina is fairly common in the club, grows fast, and if it dies then no big worry. Your toadstool on the other hand, might not take being pulled off very well and will probably be harder to replace. Just my opinion but dont stress the toadstool to give someone a xzina frag.

I was thinking just cut or break the rock in half and have both of them still attached.
