Wondering if anyone has any cool montis they want to show off (aside from the caps and digitatas). … I’d love to see any uncommon monties ... confusa, stellata, undata, verrucosa, encrusting montis, etc. I have one that has started to become one of my favorites as it grows out. I posted it in  my tank pics thread ... but i'll post it here again.

Was told it was a Montipora Spumosa

Jeff: No frags yet. One of the slowest growing corals I have! For lights I am running 1x250 DE 14K (Hamilton - will go to a Phoenix when its time to change) and 6x24w T5 HO (4xBluePlus and 2xAqua)

Susan: That is very cool looking ... wonder what it is. Does it grow fast?

Corey , How do you like your T5 lights? I'm thinking of getting some to suppliment my halides, right now I have two 150W hqi's with 20k abs but I'm either going to go with T5 whites or get another pendant and run a 10k bulb in it.

What do you suggest?

No, it grows pretty slow.  It was advertised as Montipora samarensis but I can't find a picture with that name that looks like it.

Hmmm - I just found this website:

http://zoo2.zool.kyoto-u.ac.jp/~hirose/Marine/corals/montip. htm

It looks like I do have a samarensis.

Jon: Thats a beauty ... I'm just a newbie. I prob still wouldn't know the difference between a monti and porites after i had read for a couple of hours. LOL. I do remember seeing it when i came over, but i didn't get a nice picture of it! I think you had to many nice things to take pictures of! Did I ever give you a disk. I bet I forgot!

Joe: Nice! Love the color .. What lighting are you keeping it under?

Susan: That looks like it will turn out really nice .. and starting some branches soon. Is it pink w/ orange polyps?
