Topic: Radion or Pacific Sun Posted: January 17 2012 at 3:33pm |
I have decided to ditch my 3 qty 400w MH over my 210 along with the power bill and heat that goes along with them.
However I am having I hard time deciding between 5 qty Radions (is this enough for a 210?), 2 qty 35" Pacific Sun Hyperion, or 1 qty 65" Pacific Sun Hyperion.
I really like the ability of the Radions to sync up with my MP40's and WXM, 6 channel adjustability, and the software interface looks quite nice, however I do not like the idea of 5+ plugs.
Does anyone have any experience with these fixtures?

You should be just fine with just using three Radions,
We currently have 3 over one of our 8 foot tanks and it looks great,
We also can offer you a special bonus of $50 livestock credit, (per unit) when purchasing these lights from our store,
Thanks - The Aquarium.

I also think that 3 Radions would be fine over a 210. I don't have experience with any of the fixtures you've mentioned, but I would go for the Radions just because of their interface capabilities and high ratings. Just my two cents. :)

Go with the Radions but get at least 4 of them. Ecotech has been VERY honest that one Radion will work for 40 gallons of water. There are quite a few people on Reef Central that have tested the PAR of the Radions and proven that Ecotech is right on with their recommendation.
The Radion is the best LED I have seen on the market thus far. I do have an 18" Ecoxotic Panorama PRO fixture coming my way though and will have a review up as soon as I get it in and play with it.

I have a similar question. I'm currently building a 270 gallon tanks that will be 6'x 3' x 24". Will 4 radions mounted perpendicular be enough?

Sorry for the lack of updates.
When I get home tonight I will get some updated tanks shots uploaded.
I did end up adding a forth Radion, I really didnt care for the coverage I was getting running 3.

Updated pics.
I did some re-aquascaping a week ago so the pics are not an exact comparison, but you can get an idea of how the tank looks under 4 radion's also the are running at 90%
