I'm here in West Jordan for a couple weeks, just seeing where the best places to go are for fish and SPS corals that aren't the everyday common ones. You know like Achilles tangs and Walt Disney acro..... Jk on the Walt. Back in 2008 and 2009 a few of the guys from Utah reefs came up to Boise for our reef tour. It's been awhile but I bet some of those folks are still around! Anyway I have some time to kill and what's a better way than checking out reef tanks! |
We're still around!
Love the Boise crowd. I've had many good trips there.

I went to Aquatic Dreams for the first time and it's by far one of the nicest saltwater stores I've been to. I'm not an SPS guy but they had tons of mini colonies of very pretty stuff.

Aquatic Dreams has an INSANE amount of corals. I've never seen this big or good of a selection in any store in Utah than what they have right now. Tell him to take you in the back room lol

Nicks business name is Reef Insanity if you need to look it up. He also just posted a huge list of pictures in the thread below. http://utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=79398&PID=609379&title=over-100-new-pics-wysiwyg-corals#609379

Just looking for ones that arent run of the mill type. Maybe reef raft frags or you know stuff like that. No green slimer or digitata or birdsnests... I like alot of the old school ora corals. Also looking for Strawberry shortcake, pink lemonade, ultimate rainbow milli, Basically the really pretty ones!

SLC - The Aquarium, Reef On, Benepets, Fish 4 U, Reef Legends, Live Rock and Reef, Birdworld, OCD Reefs off the top of my head. Sure I have missed a few.
You can definitely hit them all in a day (long day) or weekend for sure.

Welcome,
Honestly all of our stores offer some unique items. If you have time to kill I would definitely check out all the stores in SLC and make sure you visit Aquatic Dreams in Layton area and Aquatic Evolution and A Reef Oasis in Orem.
OCD Reefs and Live Rock and Reef I think may be new since your last visit.
We are doing another Reef Tour 5/7 if you are back in town.
